Hello, I was born in Bolu in 1972. I spent my primary school years between Bolu and Ankara, because we had to move from time to time due to my father’s job. After completing secondary school at Ankara Trial High School, we returned to Izmir with my family. I graduated from Izmir Girls’ High School in 1988 and then started studying at Ege University Faculty of Medicine. In 1994, I completed my medical education and went to İyidere district of Rize as a general practitioner. Then, in 1995, I started my specialty training in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Ege University Faculty of Medicine.

After completing my specialty training, I was assigned to Erzurum Nene Hatun Maternity Hospital in 2000 and worked there until 2002. In the winter of 2002, I worked as an observer at Poissy Hospital next to PR.Y. Ville in Paris for 3 months. On my return, I worked at Kocaman Hospital in Izmir for a short time. Afterwards, I worked at Buca Medical Center and Private Tınaztepe Hospital for 12 years from 2004 to 2016. Then I worked in various hospitals, including Private Ege Yaşam for 2 years and then Park Medical Center for 2 years. From 2020 until February 2024, I served at Kent Hospital Bayraklı Medical Center. Currently, I accept patients in my own practice in Bayraklı.

Since 1998, I have been married to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Cahit Yılmaz. He is a general surgeon and specializes in liver transplantation. We have two daughters; my older daughter studied psychology in Canada and is currently working on her PhD in the same field, and my younger daughter is a high school student.

I have been working as an Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist for 24 years. During this time, I have performed many pregnancy follow-up and delivery as well as gynecological operations. Apart from routine surgeries, I have performed laparoscopic surgical procedures, urinary incontinence surgeries and many operations related to genital aesthetics.

Since 2020, my desire to control my own menopause process and my search for solutions to some chronic diseases in my family introduced me to Functional Medicine. This was really an experience that radically changed both my daily life and my perspective on my patients in my own practice. In February 2022, I passed the Functional Medicine Academy exam under the direction of Dr. Mustafa Atasoy and started to evaluate all my patients, especially those with menopause, endometriosis, PCOS and PMS, from this perspective.

In February 2024, in order to refresh my knowledge on sexual dysfunctions and genital aesthetics and to be informed about innovations, I attended the ISAGSS course, which allowed me to take lessons from valuable professors such as Dr. Süleyman Eserdağ, Dr. Isabella Hermenegildo and Dr. Malgorzata Uchman.
